American Beauty has designed the dross skimmer as an optional part of the solder pot. This removable dross skimmer increases operator safety through reduced risk of solder splatter and maintains solder purity and temperature better than a device that rests outside the pot on a potentially contaminated surface.

Please Note: The replacement dross skimmer is made from stainless steel. Recent studies indicate that, over time, some Pb-Free solder alloys may have the capacity to dissolve stainless steel. Therefore if you choose to utilize the dross skimmer assembly in your RoHS compliant environment, we strongly recommend the periodic evaluation of this assembly for material loss and your solder alloy for possible contamination.
