60 Watt, 1/4" Pencil-Style Soldering Iron
As the most complete automotive restoration, machining and fabrication facility in the Washington DC area, we were seeing an increasing need to repair the thin aluminum found on radiator condensers. I was surprised when you recommended a 60 Watt pencil iron for this specific application. I was even more surprised when I got it and it did such a good job. Thanks for your help.

I started using the American Beauty brand in 2010 for wire sculpture. There was much interest in my pieces as well as sales. I won several awards for my work from a local art gallery. Eventually the tip of the soldering iron eroded/corroded severely. I contacted American Beauty for a new tip and discovered that the unit I was using had been manufactured in 1947! I ordered a 60 Watt pencil iron and a 25 watt pencil iron for my smaller sculptures. This works wonderfully and I completed my most recent project with this new, lower wattage unit.
